Our latest Southampton International Exhibition has attracted over 10,000 entries from 61 countries around the world, confirming our position as one of the largest photographic salons in the United Kingdom. We are also one of the oldest camera clubs in the UK, having been founded in 1896.
Our exhibition is run under the patronage of La Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique (FIAP), the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and the Royal Photographic Society (RPS).
During SIE 2013, the judges awarded in excess of 25 awards in each class. These included a FIAP gold medal, 4 other FIAP, PSA or RPS medals, 6 Southampton Camera Club medals, plus a number of FIAP or PSA ribbons and Southampton CC certificates of merit. For SIE 2013 only, there was also one SIE Centenary Medal per class - awarded by our Chairman.
Exhibitions
Once again, we are delighted to have the opportunity to exhibit all the prize-winning images in the
central atrium of Southampton's WestQuay Shopping Centre. This exhibition will run from 15 to 17 March 2013.
In recognition of our centenary and of our long-standing relationship with their international salon,
SMETHWICK PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY has also kindly offered to host an exhibition of our prize-winning images at
The Old School House, Churchbridge, Oldbury, West Midlands B69 2AS, from 18 to 31 May 2013.
